My study abroad experience significantally impacted my outlook on my future because it gave me assurance that I want to live abroad, specfically in the country I studied in, for some time, after I graduate.

It proved to me that I am capable of being independent and forging a life for myself away from "home."
— Rachel Southmayd, Spring 2012
Interesting Course
Program Testimonials
The most interesting course I took abroad was Literature of the Shoah. Studying the Shoah in Israel was a truly unique experience.
— Rachel Southmayd, Spring 2012
Interesting Course
Program Testimonials
Israel Stories was the most interesting course I took. I got to learn about the literature and cinema of Israelis and Palestinians. I learned more about Israeli culture and the current conflict in Israel in this class than through any other single experience I had.
— Cassidy Levy, Spring 2015
Unique Aspect
Program Testimonials
It was very unique to be in a city of Israel of which is primarily secular. Since Israel is typically mostly Jewish, it made this part of the experience different than those I have had here in the past. It allowed me to truly separate the differences between my family trips or youth group trips to Israel, and study abroad.
— Emily Cable, Spring 2012
Unique Aspect
Program Testimonials
Sometimes it's easy to forget that Israel is part of the Middle East, but it really is, so it has an entirely different culture about it. There's so much to learn about and explore that's not directly related to Judaism, which I didn't expect. This made for a much more diverse experience.

Program Testimonials
I learned that everyone is different and has an individual perspective and that sometimes, you really need to approach a situation in another person's shoes to really understand what is going on in the community or the world.
— Rachel Southmayd, Spring 2012
Why Study Abroad
Program Testimonials
I would tell the students who are considering this program to have a very open mind because the program brings in students from various backgrounds, even if it is a surprising thing. Some students go to Israel to get in touch with their Jewish identity, while many of them also go because they are Middle Eastern studies, political science, of Arabic studies. I was quick to judge or assume the kind of students who would be on my program, but I was presently surprised by the diversity of the other students. I learned a lot from them and also was able to teach them about my own story. It was a truly inspiring situation.
— Emily Cable, Spring 2012
Why Study Abroad
Program Testimonials
Everyone should study abroad because it throws you so far outside your comfort zone and helps you prioritize your goals in life.
— Rachel Southmayd, Spring 2012
