Program Testimonials
My semester in New Zealand completely transformed my college experience by changing me as a person. Academically, I gained insight into environmental issues and research that I may not have learned in the United States. As an Environmental Science major, having a global perception is critical to success in the field. Being abroad allowed me to see the world and its environmental issues, regulations, and future from New Zealand's viewpoint. Furthermore, the projects I did in New Zealand helped develop my future plans. It ignited an interest in water conservation that I may pursue as a career option. Consequently, I've been researching summer internships with TVA, and am planning to apply soon.

Interesting Course
Program Testimonials
My most interesting course was entitled War and Environment. Prior to this class, I had never taken a college-level history class, but the topic intrigued me. The semester was spent finding the connections between the environment and wars-primarily World War II. We studied the effects of war on the social and natural environment, as well as the environments' effects on wars. Though I found the history aspect of the class to be challenging, I really enjoyed the new perspective of studying the environment.

Unique Aspect
Program Testimonials
My program was unique in its location and proximity to amazing parts of the country. Dunedin is an excellent home-base for students interested in traveling on the weekends. The city is well-known, making travel from Dunedin to national parks and other cities/towns very easy. A 5 hour drive will put you at the base of Mt Cook/Aoraki (the tallest mountain in New Zealand) while driving the other direction places you at Nugget Point (the southernmost point on the mainland of New Zealand). However, Dunedin is unique in that you do not even have to leave the city to experience incredible beaches, breathtaking mountains, cultural hubs, Maori tradition, local food, and an unforgettable New Zealand experience.
