Change Agent
My life plan has definitely changed since going abroad. I now officially know that I want to help people in some capacity during my professional career. I have now decided to do Research at Elon because of the experience that I had in Cape Town. Further, I'd like to return to Cape Town within 5 years, hopefully to go to graduate school or by getting a fellowship of some sort.

Interesting Course
I took Culture, Identity and Globalization in Africa. This course opened up my eyes and mind to how America is perceived in Africa. Because of this class I am a more global thinker. I do not only think of how a situation effects me or this country, but rather how I think of how situations impact the world. I'm am very thankful to have taken that class abroad because of the different perspectives that were presented.

Why Study Abroad
I would tell every Elon student to study abroad in some capacity, whether it be for a semester or for the Winter Term. Being in a different country, with different ideas, different people, and different cultures is so refreshing. I felt relatively set in my ways when I left the US, but since returning I have completely re-evaluated myself and am happy to say that I literally had a life-changing experience in Cape Town, South Africa. There were times that it was challenging, but I think that is what made the experience so unique and rewarding.
