Immerse yourself in the beautiful and historic capital city of Ireland with an 8 or 12 week internship in Dublin, Ireland this summer, fall, or spring. Though it may be brimming with Irish culture and history, Dublin is very much an international city bustling with people from all over the world and featuring multinational companies offering terrific opportunities in entrepreneurship, marketing, non-profits, and law. Dublin is a fantastic city for both first time travelers and seasoned veterans, and is within close proximity to the rest of Europe for your weekend travels.

Dublin is a unique mixture of both old and new with ancient castles alongside modern architecture, and colorful doorways on top of cobblestone streets. Dublin, Ireland has established itself as a global leader in the worlds of technology, business, start-ups, and entrepreneurship, and is known for its hospitable atmosphere for multinationals. In addition, Dublin has a myriad of opportunities in fields like psychology, non-profits, government, history, and communications. GEC Access Scholarships are designed to help provide access for all undergraduate students to participate in an Elon-approved Global Engagement (Study Abroad or Study USA) program. The application for a GEC Access Scholarship is a questionnaire embedded in the outgoing program application--there is no external application. Griffith College - double room
Griffith College is a 15-20 minute walk south of Dublin’s city center, less than a mile from St. Stephen’s Green and central shopping area, Grafton Street, several other Dublin colleges, and the famous Temple Bar. The campus is close to the Luas red and green lines with numerous bus routes connecting you to the rest of the city. The campus itself has many convenient facilities such as a fitness room, library, bar and restaurant, Student Union building, and bike storage with a small grocery store across the street as well. Campus security is 24/7 with daily patrols and electronic locks to enter the residence halls.
University College Dublin – single room
University College Dublin’s main campus is located in Belfield just four miles south of downtown Dublin. It is a beautifully landscaped 300-acre campus with modern facilities that include a sports and fitness center with a pool, library, cinema, restaurants and cafes, convenience store, and bike storage. UCD also has a second campus in the seaside town of Blackrock, which would be less than ten minutes by bus to check out the quaint Blackrock village on the water. Each room contains a twin bed with linens provided, a desk with chair, and a small wardrobe. Between four and six of these single rooms form a suite to share two bathrooms, a living/dining area, and a kitchen with a stove, microwave, mini fridge, and basic supplies (plates, silverware, etc.).
Students must complete the online MyElonGlobal application by the published deadline. See the Deadline and Events Calendar for the most up-to-date deadline information. Applications are generally accepted one semester in advance.
Initial approval is granted by Elon, and final acceptance is granted by Global Experiences.
Note: This program has limited capacity. Applications for a given term will no longer be accepted once capacity has been reached.
A successful semester and summer abroad is dependent upon adequate preparation. Students will participate in a series of mandatory orientations during the semester prior to studying abroad. These orientations will address issues of academic, cultural, logistical, financial, and personal preparation, as well as health and safety. Failure to participate in the required orientations will result in dismissal from the program. Any financial losses incurred by this dismissal, including program fees and international airfare, are the student's full responsibility.
